Dr. Gurbachan Lal

Dr Lal graduated with his dental degree in 2007 and has over 16 years of experience. Lal has worked in Brisbane, Murrumba Downs for more than 5 years before relocating permanently to Hervey Bay.

Lal is a very gentle and caring dentist. He loves practising all general fields of dentistry and has a particular eye for detail in restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry.

Having a committed passion for the latest and highest standard of dentistry, Lal has completed his post-graduate Masters in Clinical Dentistry in dental implants from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Completed training in All on 4 dental implant treatments with Nobel Biocare and Malo Clinic (Inventor of original All on 4 concepts). He has also completed a Mini residency in Prosthodontics with highly respected Australian Prosthodontists Dr Tony Rotondo and Dr Michael Mandikos. More recently has expanded his skills by completing courses with renewed Steigman Institute Germany for soft tissue gum surgeries.

Lal continuously updates his knowledge and skills by regularly attending various courses and seminars. He is also very active in the dental community and is a member of various dental associations.

When Lal is not working or studying he spends his time with his wife Monika and two young daughters Nidhi and Nikita. He enjoys cricket and loves spending time with his family.

Dr. Monika Gupta

Dr Monika graduated with her dental degree in 2007 and has over 14 years of experience in dentistry. Monika is a very caring and gentle dentist and patient’s comfort is her first priority. She loves practising all aspects of general dentistry. Being a mother of two young kids, she loves treating children. She has a special interest in Preventative and Restorative dentistry and she believes that “Prevention is better than cure”.

Monika keeps updating her knowledge and skills by attending various courses. She likes listening to music and in her spare time, she likes to do art and craft work.

Dr. James Chien

Dr James Chien has a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and a wealth of experience to bring to his patients. Born in Taiwan, he attended high school in Auckland and University in Dunedin. His interests include Implant Dentistry and Oral Surgery, and he most enjoys helping his patients with their smiles. Outside of work, Dr Chien enjoys working up a sweat in a Crossfit class, as well as spending quality time with his family.

Dr Ankur Arora

With over 20 years of dedicated experience in dentistry, Dr Ankur Arora brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice. Dr Arora has undergone advanced training overseas in Prosthodontics, which is his main focus. He is well-versed in all areas of general dentistry, including cutting-edge techniques in implants and bone grafting.

Known for his gentle and empathetic approach, Dr Arora prioritizes patient comfort and satisfaction, ensuring that every visit is a positive experience. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys walking, practicing yoga, and unwinding at the beach—activities that reflect his commitment to a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Tina Cullen

Dental Hygienist

With over two decades of experience as a dental hygienist, Tina brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our oral hygiene team. Tina began my career in 2000 with the Royal Australian Airforce, where she served for 14.5 years, honing her skills in a disciplined, high-standard environment. After transitioning to private practice in Sydney for a decade, Tina moved to Townsville to support the Army and work in private practice.

Now based in Hervey Bay, Tina joined Pialba Dental in December 2023 also working part-time with Foundation Dental, focusing on complex periodontal cases and has a special  interest in focusing on the treatment and management of advanced gum disease.

Tina is dedicated to helping patients navigate and manage this challenging condition, ensuring the best possible outcomes for their oral health.

Loran Ware

Prior to studying, Loran worked as a dental assistant in Maryborough where she discovered her keen interest in oral health. Developing her professional career in dental,  Loran Graduated from CQ University in Rockhampton with a Bachelor of Oral health in 2023 and Following graduation, Loran and her partner moved back home to the Fraser Coast and joining our Pialba Dental team in May 2024.

Loran’s dual degree of hygiene and therapy allows her to work on patients from babies to the elderly performing all aspects of oral hygiene, preventive dental, examinations and simple restorations on adults and extraction of baby teeth in children.

Loran’s calming nature and personality with children has rapidly developed a positive relationship with our patients.

Additionally working part time in a local orthodontic practice, Loran has a keen eye and enthusiasm in the field of orthodontics and early prevention.
